Marc Unger

Fresh, edgy and brutally thoughtful, veteran comedian MARC UNGER hits the stage running and doesn't let up. Armed with dynamic stage presence, his explosive rants about everything from Gen Xers coping with the aging process to reality television are not only powerfully funny, but provocative as well. Marc’s been a national headliner for years and has performed regularly at many of the nation’s top comedy clubs including The Comic Strip and Gotham Comedy Club in New York and the world famous Comedy Store in Los Angeles. His television credits include Comedy Central, NBC “Friday Night Videos” and a guest appearance on the hit sitcom “Friends”. Along with film, television and standup, Marc’s an accomplished theatre actor as well and has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with acclaimed television and film actors including John Hawkes, Paul Dooley, Jamie Denton, Billy Gardell, Annabella Fields and Frank Whaley. Theatre credits include Cowboy Mouth (directed by former “House” star Jennifer Morrison), a staged reading of “Den of Thieves” directed by award winning playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis as well as many other productions in Chicago, NYC and Baltimore. Most recently, Marc premiered his latest one man show “Drinking Up the Pieces” to a standing ovation at Artscape, the largest free Arts festival in America as well as receiving rave notices for his Off-Broadway performance of the show at The Bleecker Street Theatre during the New York Underground Comedy Festival. The show, which explores Marc’s nearly two years struggle with major depression and his nightly visits to a local watering hole, is directed by Rain Pryor, daughter of the legendary comedian Richard Pryor and an acclaimed actress in her own right. Plans for the show include an extended run in New York City as well as showcasing the serio-comedic piece at festivals around the world. Marc’s writing and film directing credits include two optioned screenplays (“Adam’s Rock” and “Go With the Dog”)” as well as a short film he co-wrote, directed and starred in titled “The Filchaks Take a Gamble.” Called “funny… infectious… memorable” by filmthreat.com, one of the leading online movie review sites, this quirky, dark comedy has been featured at several film festivals including the Sarasota Film Festival and Cinequest.
